FAQs

Everything you need to know

Do you offer interest-free payment plans?

Yes, I do!

I'm happy for you to spread the cost of your wedding photography package over 6 months, interest free. I do this through setting up invoices through my business, and sending them to you at the start of every month. Just get in touch if you'd like to chat about it.

Do we receive edited and unedited photos?

You’ll receive all the best images fully edited in my signature style — bold, colourful, and true to life. I don’t deliver unedited (RAW) files, because editing is a huge part of how I tell the story of your day, and the photos I take and the editing style I use represent me and my business. If they were edited differently, that could reflect me and my business differently.

Photos that are taken on your wedding day are copyrighted by the photographer. As photos are considered to be pieces of work created by someone, the rights lie with the creator. This is another reason I don't provide the RAW files.

What formats will I receive my images?

You’ll get high-resolution JPEGs, perfect for printing, plus web-size versions that are ideal for sharing online. Everything comes in a private online gallery that’s super easy to download, share, and access on any device. Depending on your chosen package, you may also receive a beautifully handmade wedding album or two.

Do we pay for your transport and accommodation?

It depends. Travel is included for weddings within 40 miles Pontypridd (South Wales), and is 45p per mile for anything beyond that. If your venue is further away or has an early start/late finish, I may need overnight accommodation — I’ll always let you know in advance and keep things reasonable (usually just a local B&B or hotel nearby). No surprise charges, promise!

Do the package hours include editing time?

Nope! The hours in your package cover the time I’m physically with you on the day. All the editing, culling, backing up, exporting, and uploading happens afterwards and is included in the overall cost — there are no hidden editing fees.

Do we need to include meals for you?

If I’m with you for more than 6 hours — yes please! It's actually in my contract. A hot meal and a short rest keeps me fuelled for the second half of your day. I’m happy eating away from guests — just somewhere warm and close by is perfect.

What time do you start and finish on the wedding day?

It depends on your coverage, but I usually arrive a couple of hours before your ceremony and stay until you’re throwing shapes on the dancefloor. I won’t vanish after cake cutting unless we’ve agreed shorter coverage.

Do you photograph LGBTQ+ weddings?

Yes — wholeheartedly. I welcome and celebrate LGBTQ+ couples of all identities. You deserve to feel completely comfortable, seen, and supported throughout your wedding experience, and I work hard to create a space where that’s the case. I’m proudly inclusive in both my language and how I show up on the day — no awkward assumptions, no weird questions, just warmth, respect, and enthusiasm for your love story.

Do you work well with camera-shy people?

Totally — loads of my couples aren’t fans of being in front of a camera. I work gently, chatty when it helps, and low-key when needed. No forced poses or fake smiles — just relaxed moments and real connection, with a bit of reassurance along the way.

What makes you different from other photographers?

My approach is super relaxed and story-focused. I care more about the way it felt than whether every dress crease was perfect. I'm not just a vendor — I'm a calming presence, a timeline wrangler, and your biggest hype human. Plus, I’m all about bold colour and genuine moments, not cookie-cutter edits. Think of me as a bonus bridesmaid with a camera!

How do we book you?

Pop over to my contact form, tell me your date and venue (or rough plans), and I’ll get back to you within a few hours (up to 24 hoursif I'm at a wedding). If I’m available, we’ll have a quick chat to see if we vibe. If yes, I’ll send a contract and invoice — your date’s secured with a 25% booking fee.

Can we book you if we’re not having a traditional wedding?

Absolutely. Whether you’re planning a big celebration, an intimate elopement, a DIY woodland wedding, or a pub knees-up — I’m in. Your wedding doesn’t need to follow anyone else’s rules.

Do you offer engagement shoots?

Yes! They’re a great chance to get comfy in front of the camera and have a bit of fun before the big day. Whether it's a beach walk, forest wander, or ice cream in town, it’s relaxed and all about you.

Can we send you inspo or a Pinterest board?

Of course! I love seeing what you’re drawn to. I won’t recreate other people’s photos, but I'll use it as inspiration and knowing what you like helps me understand your vibe.

Can you help with planning group photos?

Yep! You’ll get a questionnaire where you can list the must-haves (chosen family, nan, chaos crew — whoever matters). I’ll help keep it organised and painless on the day.

Do you separate prep coverage based on “bride/groom”?

Nope! I’m here to document whatever and whoever is part of your prep — whether you’re getting ready solo, together, or with your full crew. I’ll ask you in advance how the morning’s going to run and tailor my coverage around it.

How do we get our photos?

Via a private online gallery with high-res downloads, social-sized images, and optional print ordering. It’s easy to share with friends and family, too.

Most of my packages also include an album or two – they're beautiful and can be cherished for decades to come by you, your friends and your family.

Do you travel outside South Wales?

Yes! I’m based in Pontypridd, but I travel across Wales, the UK, and beyond for the right couples. Extra travel or accommodation costs may apply, but I’ll always be upfront about that before you book.

What if our venue is on your wishlist?

I’d love to shoot at venues like Canada Lodge, Insole Court, Fairyhill, and Tall John’s House — and if you’re getting married at one, let me know. I may offer a discounted rate for portfolio-building at dream locations.

Can we upgrade our package later?

Totally! Need a second shooter? Extra hours? Just drop me a message before the final balance is due and we’ll sort it.

Are you insured?

Yep — full public liability and professional indemnity insurance. Let me know if your venue needs a certificate.

What happens if you're ill on the day?

I’ve never missed a wedding, but I’m part of a reliable network of trusted photographers and always have a backup plan. You’ll never be left in the lurch.

Do you back up our photos?

Multiple times! On the day, I shoot to dual cards. Once home, your photos are backed up to multiple drives and cloud storage to keep them safe.

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples book 12–18 months in advance, especially for summer weekends. But if you’re planning something sooner — or a weekday wedding — still reach out! I might just have your date free.

Where do you sit during dinner?

Ideally somewhere tucked away but nearby, with access to water and loo breaks! I use the break to back up photos and recharge (me and my batteries).

Do you direct us or let things happen naturally?

Mostly I let things unfold naturally — that’s where the magic happens. But I’ll step in with gentle guidance for portraits, and I’ll take charge (nicely!) during group photos to keep things running smoothly.

How long will it take to get our photos?

I send sneak peeks while you're eating your wedding breakfast (if WiFi is available), and your full gallery will be ready within 6–8 weeks. It’s worth the wait, promise. I edit every image by hand in my signature colourful style — no batch filters here.

Do you cover Cardiff, Swansea, or Brecon weddings?

Yes please! I’m based near Cardiff but shoot all over South Wales, and I adore the venues in Brecon and Swansea too. (P.S. If your wedding is at one of my wishlist venues, you might even get a cheeky discount…)

Do you charge travel fees?

Travel is included for weddings within 40 miles of Pontypridd, then anything further will be 45p a mile. Overnight stays may incur travel or accommodation costs — I’ll always be upfront about this before you book.

Do you offer albums?

Yes! I work with a gorgeous Poland-based print lab that makes handcrafted albums. Most of my packages come with an album, but you can add more at any time before or after the wedding — no pressure to decide right away.

We’re not having “prep” photos — do you still come early?

That’s totally fine. I usually arrive a bit before the ceremony to capture guests arriving, nerves building, and the excitement kicking in — but if you’d rather skip the prep entirely, we’ll plan the timing around what matters most to you.

We’re not having a “big” wedding — do you offer smaller packages?

Yes — I have shorter coverage options for micro weddings, elopements, and weekday celebrations. You can also build a custom package to suit your plans. Just drop me a message and we’ll find what works.

We don’t want to do any posing — is that a problem?

Not at all! My approach is mostly documentary-style, which means I’ll capture what’s really happening, not stage-managed versions of it. If you want zero posing, that’s totally cool — I’ll just gently guide you into the best light and let you do your thing.

Can we request that our photos not be shared online?

Yes. You won't be the first or last to ask this. It's in my contract to allow me to use images for marketing purposes, but if you'd be uncomfortablw with this, just let me know and I'll adapt the contract to make sure I don't use them online. Also, if you’d rather keep your gallery private, I’ll 100% respect that. Your images are yours, and your privacy matters.

Can we chat before booking?

Yes please! I offer free, no-pressure video calls so you can get a feel for how I work and ask me anything. You should vibe with your photographer — we’ll be hanging out all day!

Do we get all the photos?

You’ll get a full gallery of high-resolution, fully edited images with no watermarks. I don’t limit the number — if it’s a great moment, you get it. I don't provide every single image I take – I cull the photos that are unflattering, out of focus, where you're blinking etc.

Can we choose which photos go in the gallery?

No need — I do all the culling and editing for you, keeping the best moments. You’ll get a big, beautiful mix of laughter, emotion, details, and documentary magic.

What if things run late?

It’s normal for timings to shift a bit — I stay flexible. If things run really over, I’ll check in about adding extra time (charged hourly if you’d like me to stay longer).

Can we print our photos?

Yes! You get print rights, so you can print your favourites wherever you like. I also offer professional prints and albums if you want something a bit fancier.

Do you visit the venue beforehand?

Not usually — I arrive early on the day to scout spots and plan light. I also do lengthy research online of the venue, and speak with your coordinator on the day about their recommended photo spots. That said, I’m very happy to meet you there if it’s somewhere unusual or important to you.

Do you have tips for camera-shy couples?

Yes — loads! My whole approach is built for people who don’t love being in front of the camera. I keep things natural, fun, and pressure-free, and I’m always happy to give gentle direction when needed. I also have a blog post about posing here.

Do you shoot solo or with a second photographer?

Usually solo, but you can add a second photographer if you want coverage of both partners getting ready, extra angles, or a bigger guest list.

Which areas of the UK do you cover?

I’m happy to travel to anywhere in South Wales – from Chepstow and Monmouth to Swansea and Brecon. I’m also happy to travel within about 3 hours of Cardiff. To give you a better idea, this includes Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Shropshire.

If the event I’m photographing is more than 1 hour away, I may need to stay overnight at a hotel which will be an additional charge, and additional travel costs will apply (no charge for a 40 mile radius from my home, then 45p a mile).

If your wedding is further away, including abroad, and you’re wondering about travel costs, get in touch via my contact page!

How many images will we receive and do we get usage rights?

All my full day packages will come with a minimum of 600 photos, but I have been known to double or even triple that!

You will have the right to share the photos on your social media posts, get them printed for your home etc, but you will not have the right to sell them or give them to anyone or any business for commercial use without my permission.

This is standard practice in wedding photography because by law, the copyright of the images belongs to me. As I am the creator and editor of the images, my images represent me, my work and my business, so if you have plans to share your images with a business or publish them through a magazine, you'll need to get in touch with me first.

Do you have back-up equipment?

Yes I do. I always shoot with cameras that have two card slots. These card slots are duplicates of each other, so that if one SD card corrupts, the other will be a backup. I also shoot with two cameras, just in case something goes very wrong with one of them. I also have two backup cameras, just in case the shit hits the fan!

How would you best describe your style?

In short: candid, colourful, and relaxed. I photograph real moments as they unfold — hugs, belly laughs, nan doing shots at the bar. Nothing too stiff or staged. I do take a handful of group and couple portraits (because nan will ask for them), but I keep it quick so you can get back to partying.

As for my editing style, I'd describe it as 'enhanced reality' – I don't mute colours, I don't go light an airy. Life can be dull, but a wedding day isn't, so I make sure colours are celebrated in my work.

Do you Photoshop photos?

Nope — unless there’s something temporary (like a bruise or spot) that you’d prefer removed. I won’t alter bodies, faces, or features. You’re you — and that’s who your people love.

What do you wear to weddings?

I’m happy to take into consideration my couples’ preferences. Welsh weather is notoriously unpredictable, so I also take that into consideration!

No matter what the weather decides, I’ll be wearing comfortable footwear, which helps a lot if you need someone to run somewhere for something quickly! I’ll always dress in a tidy way – think smart/casual, and won’t spoil the aesthetic of your beautiful day. If you have a preference over how I dress on the day, just let me know. So far I've had "wear something colourful", but I'm hoping to one day be asked to join in with dressing for a themed wedding!

How did you start out as a wedding photographer in Cardiff?

I was a hobbyist photographer after learning how to use a DSLR camera while working at GoCompare in the design team. There was something about capturing the atmosphere or story of what was happening in one frame that I loved.

After about 10 years as a hobbyist, I was lucky enough to photograph my uncle’s wedding in North Wales. I decided that alcohol wasn't for me any more, and and photographing the wedding gave me something else to do while everyone else around me let their hair down. I absolutely fell in love with it – photographing the wedding that is! I woke up the next day so excited to start editing the photos I’d taken the day before.

I started putting my work and business out on social media, built a website and got myself a mentor through Business Wales. My business has been steadily growing since!
